Prepared For Global Shortages
Supply Chain Disruptions in 2021 due to COVID-19
The lead times for electronic chips stretched to 15 weeks on average, its highest ever, due to COVID-19 induced manufacturing & logistics disruptions. Lead times for Broadcom Inc., a leading manufacturer, extended to 22.2 weeks; up from 12.2 weeks.
From smartphones & PCs to electric cars and gaming consoles – this global shortage affected the production of nearly all electronic products, leading to massive delays in delivery to distributors & consumers.
Being prepared to mitigate supply chain disruptions, we were able to help our XXX clients across XXX industries meet at least a part of their immediate requirements with our ready inventory of XXX chips.
The Massive MLCC Shortage of 2018
Driven by an increase in demand for MLCCs in smartphones, portable computing, and the automotive industry, the world faced a major MLCC shortage. For context, while traditional cars had an MLCC count of 2000, the newer electric cars had an MLCC count of up to 10,000.
The scale of this shortage was such that most manufacturers stopped accepting new orders. In rare cases where lead times were quoted for new orders, clients were given lead times of 50 weeks or more, pushing entire industries into panic mode.
With our large inventory holding, priority access to the world’s biggest manufacturers & a highly efficient logistics infrastructure, we were able to immediately supply XXX MLCC capacitors to XXX companies, ensuring minimal disruptions to their operations.
